Preparations underway for 2007 TGA turf show

8.00am 5th December 2006 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The biennial one-day event will be hosted by Andy Fraser at County Turf near Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire on Wednesday 27th June and will include a wide range of activities, events and demonstrations for everyone involved in the growing, buying, selling, laying and after-care of turf for amenity, sports and landscaping.

The 2005 show, hosted by Fineturf, also in Lincolnshire, was well attended and attracted visitors from as far away as Italy, the Netherlands and Ireland.

“There’s never been a time when we’ve had so much to show and tell our customers, supply chain partners and industry colleagues,” said Tim Mudge, the association’s chief executive. “From our developing relationships with water companies concerning drought restrictions to our involvement in the 2012 Olympic ‘Greening the Games’ campaign, it’s been a very busy year which has elevated our status as an industry body and hopefully reminded people why organisations like our exist – to benefit members.

“We’ve already received generous sponsorship from British Seed Houses and Moffett and there are lots of other sponsorship opportunities available. We hope many more companies will choose to exhibit their products and services to keen visitors. We also hope that all turf professionals will make a note in their diaries to visit the show and enjoy a great day out!”

Visit the dedicated turf show website at www.turfshow2007.co.uk for more information about exhibiting and sponsorship or call the TGA office on 01507 607722.

The TGA is constantly seeking to improve the standards of its members through unity and the sharing of knowledge for the benefit of customers. Formed in 1994, it comprises some 39 members and 20 affiliates, collectively responsible for producing approximately 70% of the cultivated turf grown in the British Isles. Tim Mudge sits on the 2012 Olympic Games ‘Greening the Games’ committee. The ‘Greening the Games’ campaign aims to showcase and achieve a lasting legacy for UK horticulture.
