Powerplay Golf Tours UK in June Roadshow

12.05am 16th May 2007 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Dates and details have been announced for the PowerPlay Golf Summer Roadshow, a unique series of taster events in which golf club secretaries, managers and key administrators are invited to try the ground-breaking golf format for themselves.

Devised and managed by hugely successful former Walker Cup Captain and Chairman of Selectors, Peter McEvoy, PowerPlay Golf is a shortened, yet highly competitive and strategic form of golf. Played over 9 holes, each green has two flags, one a white flag in an ‘easy’ position and one black in a tricky ‘Sunday afternoon’ spot. Each golfer has to choose to play for the ‘skull ‘n’ crossbones’ black flag on three tees during the 9 holes. Double Stableford points are on offer for scoring birdies, net birdies or better.

Following the spectacular reaction to PowerPlay Golf earlier this year when it was first played by groups of elite golfers and specialist golf writers, McEvoy is now keen to demonstrate to golf clubs how PowerPlay Golf can help boost green fee and visitor revenue. He and his team are staging 10 half-days at selected venues around the country during June and July 2007, at which invited club secretaries and administrators will try a 9-hole PowerPlay Golf round for themselves and then hear how PowerPlay Golf will be structured for their benefit. They will also be given the opportunity to discuss how golf clubs can best raise revenue from the format.
