Polo Golf to sponsor Première conference

11.00am 26th June 2003 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The inaugural Première European Golf Resort Conference, which will take place in Marbella, Spain, from 4th to 7th November, has secured Polo Golf Ralph Lauren as a sponsor.

Named as a “Première Partner Sponsor” to the Conference, Polo Golf Ralph Lauren will officially back this new initiative, aimed at bringing together directors and managers from Europe’s leading golf resorts. The Première Golf Resort Conference will provide a unique forum for the exchange of information and for examining ways of enhancing business practices, profitability and efficiency at every level in the golf resort sector.

“I am delighted that Polo Golf, a brand synonymous with quality and style, is lending its support to the first Première Golf Resort Conference,” said Robert Fairbairn, event director. “The whole ethos of this new event is to help improve business performance and heighten the golfing experience at Europe’s leading resort-style golf courses. These aims are epitomised by the objectives of Polo Golf and I look forward to working with Polo to ensure the event is an outstanding success and of benefit to all participants.”

Simon Lee, European sales manager for Polo Golf Ralph Lauren, added, “We are glad to be able to support this initiative. I‘m sure it will prove to be an extremely valuable tool for Europe’s golf resort industry, which forms a core part of our exclusive customer base.”

The Conference will tackle a number of key topics in this increasingly dynamic and competitive sector of the golf market. These will include discussions on realising the huge potential of e-commerce; the latest developments in agronomy and course design; maximising profits through merchandising; managing cart fleets more efficiently and enhancing green fee revenue.

A number of leading industry experts have already been signed up to present, including Colin Heggarty, CEO of the Golf Research Group, Jeremy Slessor, managing director of European Tour Design, Niall Flannigan, general manager of the St Andrews Links Trust and Stephen Proctor of Sports Marketing Surveys. Further information will be announced shortly.
