The Golf Show 2013, Europe’s leading golf trade show and educational event, has announced PGA Master Professional Peter Cowen, in association with Callaway, will be one of a host of headline speakers at this year’s Teaching & Coaching Conference.
Cowen will be joined by a number of soon-to-be-announced experts for a day long conference discussing everything involved in modern-day coaching from teaching techniques to increasing profitability through lessons.
Staged on the final day of The Golf Show 2013 – to be held at the Harrogate International Centre from October 8-10 – the Teaching & Coaching Conference is open to PGA Professionals from across the globe and will engage delegates by showcasing various teaching techniques as well as how to make coaching more commercial and profitable.
A former Tour champion himself, Peter established his reputation as a first-class coach while Head Professional at the prestigious Lindrick Golf Club near Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Since then his customer base has grown to include many of the game’s great players.
Peter’s clients have included Major champions, European Tour winners and Ryder Cup players, including Thomas Bjorn, Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington, Henrik Stenson and Louis Oosthuizen.
2010 was arguably Peter’s most notable coaching year to date, helping Westwood take 2nd at the Masters, McDowell win the US Open and Oosthuizen win the Open Championship at St Andrews, with Westwood 2nd and Stenson 3rd.
Commenting on his attendance at The Golf Show 2013, Peter Cowen, said: “I understand what it is like to be a PGA professional and the challenges that many face when it comes to monetising their businesses. I hope that through my experiences I can offer visitors useful advice and ideas they can easily put into practice.”
David Colclough, PGA Head of Member Education, said: “Peter is a PGA Master Professional, who is world renowned as a coach. Following on from last year’s Teaching & Coaching Conference, and with Pete agreeing to speak this year, I’m looking forward to an equally successful TCC for PGA members to attend in 2013.
“In addition to his work with tour players he has been a PGA professional at club level and understands the challenges and opportunities this can create. I’m sure delegates will find his words of wisdom inspiring and useful.”
