New training course for golf club officials

A training course for those involved in the management and administration of golf clubs which aims to provide delegates with a better understanding of the greenkeeping role will be part of the Golf Club Show at Harrogate from 21st to 22nd January 2002

In conjunction with BIGGA’s launch of ‘The Golf Club Show’ at BTME 2002, STRI is running a special two day course specifically for those involved in the management and administration of golf clubs, including secretaries, chairmen of green and committee members.

The course aims to provide delegates with insight into the complexities of managing and maintaining a golf course and a better understanding of the greenkeeping role.

Organised as part of BIGGA’s educational seminar programme, the two day course includes a visit to STRI’s trials grounds in Bingley, free entry to both the BTME Exhibition and the new Golf Club Show plus other pre-booked seminars.

The programme starts at 9.00 am on Monday 21st January at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. Topics cover ten sessions including rootzones, grasses, design, construction, maximising management opportunities, solutions to modern day problems and controlling pests and diseases. Each session will be delivered by two STRI agronomists giving delegates the opportunity to meet the full STRI Golf Advisory Team.

All bookings and requests for details should go to Sami Collins at BIGGA Tel: 01347 833800. The price is £290 per person. e-mail sami@bigga.co.uk
