Nevada Bob’s has signed up as the official retailer for the London Golf Show 2010 in a move that marks a change in direction for the golfing extravaganza.

Whereas previous outings of the show have featured an enormous shop offering everything from gadgets to fashion, this year’s store will focus solely on selling the latest equipment from all the big-name manufacturers with facilities to offer full custom fitting.

Golfers will still be able to find cutting-edge golf gadgets and the latest fairway fashions, however, with the decision encouraging a wider range of specialist companies to exhibit at the show, and organisers are confident the move will result in visitors getting their hands on more bargains.

Former executive director of the European Tour Ken Schofield, who is now chairman of the Golf Show Group, said: “The golf store has always been one of the most popular features of the show. Golfers love to come and see the latest products and get them at bargain prices.

“We want to get the very best possible terms for our visitors and patrons and this is the natural way to do that. As one of the biggest golf chains in the country Nevada Bob’s has excellent relationships with all the big brands. We feel certain they will offer some wonderful products at the best prices.

“Additionally the company’s focus on equipment is attracting more exhibitors offering clothes, golf-related gadgets and virtually everything one may think of – thus creating a more competitive market within the show. This will help ensure our visitors and patrons can maximise their hunt for bargains.”

Adrian Woolford, managing director of Nevada Bob’s Europe, said: “As a business we primarily focus our retail attention to ensure all golfers are fitted with the right equipment to match their ability.

“We will continue this approach, as we are confident we can give excellent attention and focus on their needs of golfers who attend the show.”

Nevada Bob’s presence at the show will be managed by Ivan Norman, the company’s city of London franchisee, who runs four stores in the capital including one in Broadgate, just a 15-minute trip from the show.

Visitors to the show will also have the opportunity to find out about running their own golf superstore with information available on Nevada Bob’s franchise opportunities across the UK.

The London Golf Show returns to ExCeL for its sixth outing from April 30 to May 2 and will once again offer the entire golfing spectrum under one roof.

Visitors will be able to test the latest clubs from all the big brands, enjoy custom fitting, see cutting-edge golf gadgets, enjoy free coaching, try their hand at a host of competitions to win fantastic prizes and much more.

Thanks to the support of the England Golf Partnership, all golf club members can get free entry to the show. All they have to do is register online before April 17.

In addition, this year’s event runs alongside the inaugural London Tennis Show and visitors to one event get free entry to the other.
