Munich to be the ‘hub’ of the golf world

More than 800 golf teachers, trainers and players from Europe and overseas are expected in Munich from Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th October 2003 for the 6th PGA of Europe Teaching & Coaching Conference. For a week the Bavarian capital will be the centre of the golf world because the Conference will be followed immediately by Golf Europe 2003, the 11th International Trade Fair for Golf which is scheduled in the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from Sunday, 5th to Tuesday 7th October.

Under the conference theme “The Complete Golfer”, the PGA of Germany, hosting the event for the first time, has invited as speakers some of the world’s most renowned professionals, golf teachers, trainers, sports scientists and communicators.

Amongst this distinguished gathering Peter Alliss, Dave Pelz, Hank Haney, Dr Ralph Mann, Tony Mathis, Dr Richard Coop, Paul Chek, Frank Thomas, Anna Wise and Oliver Heuler are all expected.
They will reveal the secrets of putting (Pelz) and the right nutrition (Mathis). They will provide an insight into the psychology of learning and teaching golf (Coop) and demonstrate their teaching skills in a live session (Haney).

Frank Thomas, former technical director of the USGA, will talk about the impact on golf of the technical developments over recent years and the psychologist Anna Wise will explain how sportsmen and women develop mental strength for a successful game. Peter Alliss will talk about his life as player, commentator and journalist.
