A golf industry career fair will be staged for the first time at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show, 28-30 January in Orlando, Fla., and will be produced in partnership by PGA Golf Exhibitions, The PGA of America, National Golf Course Owners Association, Association of Golf Merchandisers, National Golf Sales Representatives Association and leading golf industry employers.
The inaugural career fair will include recruitment services by leading industry employers, a variety of golf-related job posting boards, on-site interviewing for industry positions, employment workshops, resume posting boards, interviewing and resume writing seminars and comprehensive PGA Employment Services.
“The convergence of all sectors of golf, plus industry professionals from around the world makes a career fair at the PGA Merchandise Show the next logical step in helping build a more prosperous year for both employers and qualified job seekers,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions Group Vice President and General Manager Ed Several. “The allied associations organizing the overall effort for the career fair represent diverse fields where nearly every professional specialty within golf will be represented in some meaningful manner.”
The Career Fair is being designed to connect qualified industry professionals with job opportunities at some of the most recognized companies in golf. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy are announcing recruitment efforts as part of the inaugural program and organizers are working with additional golf-related employment companies to participate.
The primary location of the PGA Merchandise Show Career Fair will be right on the Show floor in Booth #2173. A Career Fair concierge will help guide employers and employment seekers through a wide variety of professional services available by participating organizations.
