Golf show cancelled

The UK Golf Show, due to be held in Manchester in October 2002, has been cancelled

The UK Golf Show has been cancelled. The event, planned as a public rather than a trade exhibition, was due to be held in Manchester’s GMex from 18th to 20th October 2002 with a follow-up show in Edinburgh next April. The organisers, who were hoping ultimately to bring the event to London in Autumn 2003, have given no further details about their decision but it is thought that there was very little trade support for their plan.

The fact is that, apart from the exhibition tent at The Open Championship, in recent years all attempts to establish a regular annual public golf show in the UK have failed. London venues have included the Barbican, Alexandra Palace and Wembley while Birmingham’s NEC has also been tried.
