Award-winning Golf Live, the world’s leading interactive golf event, has appointed communications specialist the Azalea Group to handle its public relations.
The third annual Golf Live, organised by Brand Events and IMG, takes place at the London Golf Club, from 18-20 May, when it will return with even more unique opportunities to meet and learn from golfing legends, as well as seeing everything available in golf.
And golf fans can expect to hear plenty about the coming attractions with Azalea set to launch a co-ordinated promotional campaign early in 2012.
Golf Live’s event director, James Goode, explained: “We believe Azalea shares our vision and feel its staff will add a new perspective and vibrancy to the behind-the-scenes working. Azalea’s experience in this sector of golf is unsurpassed.”
Azalea director Andy Barwell added: “Golf Live is the premier golf event of its kind anywhere in the world, let alone theUK. It is also a unique experience in that it allows golf fans to get up close and personal with many of their idols. We are really looking forward to working with the team at Golf Live, developing ideas and highlighting the many exciting advances for 2012 – and there will be plenty to shout about.”
Visitors to the 2011 event in May enjoyed a star-studded line-up that included Ryder Cup-winning captain Colin Montgomerie and a host of Major champions and top professionals including Darren Clarke, Michael Campbell, Ian Woosnam, Retief Goosen, David Howell, Thomas Levet and Carly Booth.
Montgomerie was unequivocal in his praise. He said: “Golf Live is a unique event. It gives fans the opportunity to engage and interact with professionals in a way that no other exhibition or event can.”
That concept earned the show’s organisers the prize of ‘best launch show’ at the Exhibition News Awards 2011, beating some tough industry competition.
Last year’s show attracted almost 13,000 visitors to the Kent club – an increase of 16 per cent on the attendance at the inaugural event and Goode and his London-based team are keen to take the event “to a new level” with increased interactivity and more exhibitors.
Goode added: “Everyone loves to interact with the pros at Golf Live but it’s about so much more than that. There is nowhere else golfers can speak to experts about equipment, enjoy tuition or learn about the latest fashion, destinations and gadgets on such a large scale.”
Exhibitors already confirmed for the event include Callaway, Cleveland, COBRA-PUMA, Srixon, Mizuno, Wilson, Yonex, Titleist, Golfbreaks.com, Celtic Manor Resort, Marriott Hotels, St Andrews Golf, Turnberry Resort and many more.
Golf Live takes place at the London Golf Club from 18-20 May, 2012.
