Golf LIVE is Back with a Brand New Venue

12.07am 7th October 2010 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The London Golf Club

After its amazing debut in 2010, the organisers of Golf LIVE have announced London Golf Club as the new venue in 2011. It will take place from 20-22 May at the stunning Kent course which has previously hosted the European Open and is also a venue for Open Championship Regional Qualifying and European Tour First Stage Qualifying.

The golf industry has long sought an event that allows its members to interact with the consumer and provide a platform for them to showcase their products and brand ambassadors.

In 2010 this Holy Grail finally came to fruition at the inaugural Golf LIVE. Leading manufacturers such as TaylorMade, Callaway and Nike, along with worldwide Tourist Boards, clothing companies and accessory brands all attended Golf LIVE and were able to use the outdoor environment along with the Exhibition Hub to interact with the 11,000 plus golfers who flocked to Golf LIVE over the 3 days.

Event ambassador and Ryder Cup Captain, Colin Montgomerie, led a stellar pool of professional participants that also included Ian Poulter, Paul Casey, Retief Goosen, Catriona Matthew and Rhys Davies.

Alongside an incredible line up of coaches and presenters including David Leadbetter, Denis Pugh, Peter Alliss, Di Stewart, Iain Carter and Richard Boxall they entertained the visiting golf fans to a jam-packed daily schedule of activities ranging from Instructional Masterclasses on all facets of the game, 3-hole Celebrity-Pro Challenge matches and an entertaining and humorous All Star Play Off grand finale that concluded each day’s activities. Golf LIVE accomplished the task of giving amateur golfers the opportunity to interact with their idols for 8 hours a day in unique and intimate theatres.

Commenting on the announcement that Golf LIVE is moving to a new venue Event Director, James Goode, said: “The launch of Golf LIVE exceeded all of our expectations. The interaction between the players, coaches and the public was amazing and the feedback we have had from all of our partners has been incredibly positive. The move to London Golf Club will allow us to develop the Golf LIVE concept even further and increase our capacity to 15,000 visiting golfers. We are very excited about working with the team at this world-class venue.”

“We are already working with our partners, IMG on signing up the talent for 2011 and we will be making announcements on developments in the weeks and months to come,” Goode added.

Speaking on behalf of London Golf Club, General Manager Austen Gravestock said: “We are really excited about hosting Golf LIVE in 2011. The event was a big hit with everyone who attended it last year and we feel that with the facilities we have here we can enhance that experience even further. We have already demonstrated with the European Open that there is a real appetite for golf in our area and we feel certain that golfers will want to come and see their heroes in the unique setting Golf LIVE provides.”
