The Daily Telegraph and Bauer Consumer Media, publishers of Today’s Golfer, Golf World and todaysgolfer.co.uk have been confirmed as Media Partners for Golf LIVE, the exciting new interactive golf event featuring Colin Montgomerie, Paul Casey, Retief Goosen, Ian Poulter and a host of other leading players, coaches and celebrities. The event will be staged at Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire, from 14-16 May 2010.
The Daily Telegraph has committed to providing regular updates about the event, including an extensive Golf LIVE supplement to be published on the Saturday of The Masters tournament at Augusta National, Georgia. Today’s Golfer, Golf World and todaysgolfer.co.uk will feature a combination of advertising, editorial and advertorials, spread across four issues in the lead up to the event.
“We are delighted that the Daily Telegraph, Today’s Golfer and Golf World have agreed to be the Media Partners for Golf LIVE,” said James Goode, the Event Director. “All three titles are well-known for providing lively, entertaining and authoritative golf coverage and will do a great deal to enhance Golf LIVE’s profile among the sort of serious golfers that the event is targeted at.”
Golf LIVE has been created by Brand Events, the company behind successful public shows like Top Gear Live and the Taste Festivals, in conjunction with the International Management Group (IMG) and offers golfers of all ages and abilities the chance to indulge in their passion by watching and learning from the best in the game.
At Golf LIVE the emphasis will be on interaction, education and entertainment. Daily ticket holders will be able to plan their day around two pre-allocated sessions, a Masterclass with Colin Montgomerie and a Pro-Celebrity 3-Hole Challenge.
Commenting on this revolutionary new interactive golf event, Goode said, “Golf LIVE is a totally new concept. It will present the opportunity for passionate golf enthusiasts to enjoy an interactive learning experience from some of the world’s top golfers in specially created arenas.
“Golf LIVE will also present a 360-degree view of the golfing world, from the latest products of the leading manufacturers to insightful hints and tips from golf’s best players, coaches and sports psychologists. We believe this event will break the mould and take the golfing world by storm.”
Ben Dunn, Head of Sport Sponsorship at the Daily Telegraph said: “The Daily Telegraph is proud to be a partner of Golf LIVE and recognises the innovative approach taken by Brand Events to deliver a truly revolutionary experience for golfers.”
“Today’s Golfer and Golf World are incredibly excited about the Golf LIVE event and very pleased to be involved. This will be a truly interactive experience where lesson, tips, drills and player insight really comes to life. There’s nothing else currently like this event in the UK – possibly the world – and both magazines and todaysgolfer.co.uk will be keeping golfers up-to-date with news about the event as it approaches.” Andy Calton, Editor-in-Chief (Today’s Golfer / Golf World / todaysgolfer.co.uk)
