Golf Industry Show: strong advance registration and sales

The preliminary numbers indicate that the inaugural Golf Industry Show 10-12 February in Orlando is set for success

One week out, advance registration was 17,886, which is approximately five percent higher than the combined advance registration of the Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSAA) and National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) conferences and trade shows at this same point last year. Officials have projected final attendance to be approximately 21,000.
Exhibitors have given early approval to the creation of the Golf Industry Show as 808 have registered with 267,660 square feet. Last year at the GCSAA Conference and Show, there were 684 exhibitors covering 240,000 square feet. The all-time best for square footage at a GCSAA Conference and Show was 278,000 in Dallas in 2001.
The GCSAA Education Conference, which runs concurrently with the Golf Industry Show at the Orange County Convention Centre, has so far attracted 6,924 seminar seat reservations. Last year, in San Diego, seminar attendance was 6,772.
The Golf Industry Show, which combines the trade shows of the GCSAA and the NGCOA, is a progressive event that features unparalleled networking opportunities and hands-on access to resources for professional members of the golf industry. The Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) will become associated with the event in 2007. Also participating as supporting organizations are the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA), the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) and the National Golf Foundation (NGF).
At the Show the NGF will announce its annual course openings report for 2004 along with its 2005 forecast.
