Two members of Golf Business International will be participating in the 86th annual meeting of the Golf Club & Course Managers Association of Italy (AITG) when it takes place at the Parco Hotel Paradiso del Garda at picturesque Lake Garda November 11-12.
Most of the country’s club and course managers will be in attendance and they will be joined by many other significant industry figures, including Golf Business International’s Stefano Boni – the Italian Golf Federation’s consulting agronomist and ecology officer – who will be hosting a seminar on golf course renovation.
Included within that session are presentations by two foremost Italian golf architects – Franco Piras and Fulvio Bani – and Boni’s Golf Business International colleague William Swan, from UK-based Swan Golf Designs.
Boni will also carry out two presentations himself, later in the conference: the first is on continual professional development, titled ‘Certification Program for Superintendents and Golf Technicians’ – delivered in partnership with board members Luca Caspani and Alessio Chiusso – while the second will update attendees about the Italian Golf Federation’s ‘Green Section’ activities.
He said: “The AITG meeting is a ‘can’t miss opportunity’ for education, inspiration and networking. This is the first meeting after the new board elections and I am very impressed by the quality of the schedule. Without any doubt, the board – chaired by Davide Santagostino – working in tandem with the outgoing board, is off to a good start.
“The Monday session will be carried out mainly in English with simultaneous translation and the attendance by international delegates is really appreciated.”
Formed originally as the Golf Consultants Association in 1999, Golf Business International, which rebranded in 2017 and is now also a ‘preferred partner’ of both England Golf and Wales Golf, is unique in its ability to make available a team of highly respected and experienced golf industry professionals to deal with any aspect of the business of golf through from conception to end.
