GolfEx Dubai aims to bring together the business of the world of golf in one single venue as well as providing an excellent platform to network, share knowledge and broker deals. It is aimed at ‘opinion formers’ and decision-makers who are instrumental in developing and growing the sport around the world. Primarily a conference, it will also host a trade exhibition and gala dinner.
The event has the full support of the European Tour and the Asian Tour, as well as the golfing community in Dubai, lead by the newly-formed Golf in Dubai, the governing body of golf responsible for everything from the staging of amateur and professional tournaments to the development of the game within the United Arab Emirates.
Ken Schofield, former chief executive officer of the European Tour, said, “Dubai has become a hugely important golfing and business destination in recent years. The inception of the highly successful Desert Classic some sixteen years ago has played an important part in this development. Now through the launch of GolfEx Dubai the world of golf can come together in the perfect setting of Dubai to meet, discuss and hopefully progress many of the games current issues.”
Neil Hamp-Adams, managing director of Driving Force, promoters of GolfEx Dubai, said, “Our research has shown that the golf industry worldwide has grown to such an extent in the last five years that it requires one single event that enables the industry to share knowledge, broker business deals, network with the leading figures and experts in the industry in order to drive the game into the future.
“Key areas that will be covered during the summit include tournament management and promotion, build and design of golf courses, golf and the environment, real estate development within golf, managing champions and golf development in emerging markets.”
GolfEx Dubai will be held at the Jumeirah Conference Centre on 29th and 30th January 2006. www.golf-ex.com
