First conference for European Golf Course Owners

The European Golf Course Owners Association is delighted to announce the first EGCOA Conference. The conference will be hosted in the lovely city of Amsterdam, 23rd – 25th November 2006. Already there has been huge interest and registrations from all over the world.
The EGCOA represents close to 600 golf course owners in 12 European countries and national owners associations in 8 European countries. The EGCOA is expanding rapidly. The prime objects of the EGCOA are growing the golf business; professionalizing and improving the golf business; looking after the interest of golf course owners/supply side of the golf industry on a European level
The objective of the EGCOA 2006 conference is to bring together golf course owners and other important industry partners. Learning from speakers and colleagues will play an important role plus networking and creating the opportunity to improve the golf business with new ideas.
The theme of the conference is: “Grow the game & improve your business”
The landscape of golf in Europe is changing and the conference will focus on the development of golf in various European countries. Analyzing these changes and looking at solutions that are found by golf course owners will be very important part of the programme.
The broad range of speakers has huge experience in the golf industry. Among them is the CEO of the NGCOA – Mike Hughes will talk about the role and success of the NGCOA. Jay Karen, director membership of the NGCOA, will describe the experience of price strategies in the USA on golf courses. Niall Flanagan, manager from the Links Trust of St. Andrews, will talk about the secrets of operating the most famous course in the world, Henk Jan de Boer, director of food & beverage BurgGolf, will teach golf course owners how to make good revenues on their food and beverages operations and Falk Billion, independent golf course appraiser will explain what influences the value of golf courses.
Furthermore, Andrea Sartori will be presenting the results of the 2006 KPMG Golf Benchmark Survey, one of the largest researches ever undertaken in the golf industry

In order to make this a memorable conference, the EGCOA has arranged accommodation at the Mövenpick Hotel which is within walking distance of the centre of Amsterdam, famous for great sightseeing, Christmas shopping and famous galleries and museums.
