The European Institute of Golf Course Architects has announced that the 2013 EIGCA Conference and AGM will take place in Malmo, Sweden from 24th to 27th April 2013.
The EIGCA are holding their first annual meeting in Scandinaviaat the invitation of EIGCA Vice-President Peter Fjällman. The event will be based at the Comfort Hotel Malmo, close to Malmo Central Station in the centre of the city, with fast links to Copenhagen airport.
The President’s Cup will be played over two great seaside courses on the Falsterbo peninsula at Ljunghusens Golfklubb, and Falsterbo Golfklubb
Falsterbo is one of Europe’s classic links courses. Founded in 1909 the present course was laid out in 1930 and is ranked within the Golf World Top 100 courses of Continental Europe.
Ljunghusens is ranked as one of the top courses in Sweden and importantly became the first ever golf course to be GEO certified.
The 2013 EIGCA Conference will be held in the Malmo Borshus, while the President’s Dinner will be staged at the historic Restaurang Årstiderna i Kockska Huset, both a short walk from the hotel and close to the thriving centre of Malmo.
The theme for the conference is ‘Golf in the Nordic Countries’ and a wide range of different speakers have been lined up to present what promises to be an enlightening event.
