Dates confirmed for Asia PGA Shows

12.15am 28th April 2003 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Following the success of The PGA Show Asia 2002 held in Bangkok, Thailand will once again play host to The PGA Show Asia – Merchandise 2003.

The organisers intend that the PGA Show Asia 2003 will not only be bigger than last year’s event but also better. The objective of being the trendsetter for the golfing industry in Asia will be achieved through the display of the latest and most sophisticated products and services, technology and equipment. Serving as a platform for the Asian golf industry, The PGA Show Asia is an excellent avenue for manufacturers to gain access to the Asian marketplace and for distributors to launch new products and services.

Designed to be an all-encompassing event, The PGA Show Asia not only provides a forum for golf industry professionals to network but also to discuss pertinent issues affecting the industry in Asia, encouraging the exchange of information and expertise. The PGA Show Asia – Trade & Industrial is a collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) – Beijing Sub-Council. This show aims to promote the development of China’s emerging golf industry by first focusing purely on its trade and industrial aspects pertaining to the development of the golfing infrastructure.

As reported elsewhere, golf has been approved in the first stage of consideration as a competitive sport in the Games of the 29th Olympiad in 2008, to be held in Beijing. China, with a population of about 1.3 billion people, has already over 400,000 memberships distributed among her 195 golf courses. With a projected 500 to 1000 golf courses being built in the near future, China certainly has immense market potential for golf related investments.
