Clubbing In London

3.10pm 16th February 2007 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Three of the biggest equipment manufacturers in the golf industry have confirmed they will be at the London Golf Show – and more are expected to follow suit.

US manufacturers Cleveland, Nike and Wilson will be present to showcase their latest ranges and for visitors to try the clubs before they buy. In addition, Nike is sponsoring the longest drive competition and will provide a prize of a driver for both the men’s and ladies’ competitions each day. And Cleveland will be bringing along its tour truck and will be the official supplier of wedges for the ever-popular chipping green.

The three companies number some of the world’s best professionals among their tour staffs including Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, David Toms, Paul Casey, Stewart Cink, Michelle Wie, Trevor Immelman, Padraig Harrington, Jesper Parnevik and David Howell. Small wonder then that their equipment will prove such an attraction.

Andy Barwell, the London Golf Show’s marketing director, said, “Once again the manufacturers have backed the London Golf Show by buying space at the event to showcase their products. The opportunity to try out the equipment, while receiving advice and help from the manufacturers themselves, is a huge boon to golfers. Their presence at the show and on the driving range adds yet another exciting dimension to the event.”

The London Golf Show 2007 returns to ExCeL from 26-29 April with Europe’s largest golf retail store courtesy of the UK’s no1 retailer, american golf; a 30-bay driving range; the chance to go head-to-head on the chipping green with celebrities; the opportunity to sink a 100ft putt; the iconic floating green; myriad game-improvement gadgets; a fashion show; plus a much bigger area dedicated to junior golf with free coaching, fun and games and prizes. What’s more, two juniors go free with every paying adult…
