Members of the Fourth Estate and those working in the golf industry will be able to obtain free entry to next week’s London Golf Show, which takes place at Glow, Bluewater, in Kent, from August 26-28.
The show’s event director, Simon Jones, believes the show provides an ideal opportunity for those working within the golf industry to network with like-minded professionals, so had no qualms about making the free ticket offer.
He said: “Golf needs to work together to help grow the game and when you have a number of influential people under one roof it seems only sensible to bring others in as well. Yes, I appreciate there are a number of annual conferences, but almost always there’s a three-figure delegate fee and a lot of stuff that’s not relevant to some individuals.
“At the London Golf Show we’re not out to educate people, so it’s a bit different. But it does offer an opportunity to catch up with somebody you may have wished to see for some time. Or, it may simply be an ideal place to hold your meeting that day. Whatever the reason we’re happy to welcome golf industry personnel to the show – and the same goes for members of the media.”
Anybody working in the golf industry or the media wishing to claim entry to the London Golf Show should email Olivia Cooke at olivia@golfshowco.com, with their bona fides.
Visitors to the London Golf Show could win holidays to Bermuda and Sawgrass, plus a stunning Tesla car worth more than £60,000, on the various competition stands at the show.
And anybody attending the show will be in profit almost immediately, with every visitor able to claim at least nine free rounds of golf. Each of nine golf clubs – The Addington, Croydon; Bletchingly, Surrey; Chart Hills, Biddenden, Kent; Cherry Lodge, Biggin Hill; Farleigh GC, Selsdon, Surrey; Surrey National, near Coulsdon; Weald of Kent, in Headcorn; Westerham, Kent; and Woldingham, near Whyteleafe – will give a free green fee to every visitor to their stand, in a package worth at least £300.
With myriad interactive stands – including nearest-the-pin, long-drive and long-putt contests; free PGA tuition; a massive indoor driving range featuring the majority of golf’s best-known club brands; custom fitting; club testing; trick-shot displays; simulators; the latest golf gadgets; extensive retail; and the opportunity to win everything from a packet of tees to an exotic golf holiday, it is the ultimate day out for any golf enthusiast.
The show will be hosted by Golf Juice presenter and YouTube sensation Crossfield, whose golf coaching videos have received more than 90 million views. He will be accompanied by fellow PGA professional Lockey, who also enjoys a substantial following on social media, where he’s better known as ‘Coach’ Lockey. The duo often work together to produce videos and will be reunited once more to entertain visitors at the show.
Launched in 2005, the London Golf Show is the UK’s longest-running consumer golf show and was designed to appeal to golfers – and potential golfers – of all ages and abilities.
