Sharpe, who took over from Neil Howie as Managing Director & President of the EMEA Division of Callaway in May last year, will be talking at the conference about his experiences and thoughts on the UK and worldwide golf industry, along with identifying some of the challenges that may lie in wait over forthcoming years.
No stranger to senior leadership roles in the global golf industry, Sharpe was formerly Chief Franchise Officer and General Manager of Topgolf Technologies and President of Toptracer. In the latter role, he played a pivotal part in expanding the Toptracer systems into golf ranges throughout the world, as well as the technologies high-profile use in broadcasting at major golf events. Sharpe also brings a deep understanding of the wider market from his time at TaylorMade-Adidas Golf.
Speaking of the announcement, Paul Mould, Director at Golf Accountancy Matters, said: “We’re thrilled Ben has agreed to be the keynote speaker at our second Workshop & Golf Business Conference. The insight that he can bring from the European and worldwide golf industry will be fascinating to hear. He’s a genuine industry heavyweight that I’m sure our attendees will enjoy hearing from.”
Golf Accountancy Matters was founded in 2018 and has grown significantly over the last 18 months, being well on its way to 50 clubs, including prestigious venues such as St Enodoc, St. Georges Hill and Huntercombe to name a few. In 2024, it opened its Midlands & North office, headed by experienced golf operator Tim Gilpin. Services offered to its clients go from outsourced payroll solutions through to full accounting and finance reporting.
Three further guest speakers are joining Sharpe at the event – more details on those will be announced in the forthcoming weeks – and the team at Golf Accountancy Matters will also be on hand and orchestrating a workshop-style session exploring the best practices and new technologies in accounting and bookkeeping.
