BTME 2012

It’s safe to say that due to the extremes of weather 2012 has been one of the toughest years in living memory for greenkeepers across the UK. This means a visit to BTME in January is even more essential to share problems, discuss solutions and more with fellow greenkeepers and other turf professionals.

Please note there are limited places remaining at some of the superb Continue to Learn education programme seminars and workshops. Book NOW to avoid disappointment at http://www.btme.org.uk/education/seminars

For those who need more reasons to attend, here are the thoughts of just a couple of the thousands of greenkeepers who are eagerly anticipating BTME:

“Firstly, a visit to BTME is essential for me to keep up to date with the latest technology. In these times when budgets are under more scrutiny than ever, we’re looking at our machinery maintenance costs and I’m also keen to attend some machinery training.

“BTME is also a terrific opportunity to increase the skill set of existing members of our team. It will be useful for me to educate our management team who are heading up toHarrogatewith me – BTME will help me get them on board with my way of thinking and introduce them to others in the industry who have the same mindset.”

Glenn Kirby, Hockley Golf Club, says, ““It’s reassuring to speak to greenkeepers who are having the same problems – you know you’re not alone and BTME is the perfect location to discuss all manner of issues. The old adage remains true – a problem shared is a problem halved – and nowhere is this more appropriate than BTME. In my opinion it’s more important than ever to attend.”

Greg Skinner, Forest Hill Golf & Country Club, said, “We’re also promising you will be shaken not stirred at the 2013 BIGGA Social Event which has a James Bond theme.”

The action begins at 7pm on Tuesday 22 January at the Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate. Tickets cost just £25 and include an arrival drink, dinner, entertainment and other surprises. The dress code is smart casual. To snap up tickets please call Elaine Jones at BIGGA HQ on 01347 833800 or email moneypenny@bigga.co.uk

The Showfloor Theatre is also returning to BTME due to popular demand and will this year be situated in Hall M – more details on this nearer the time.
