Bom Sucesso at London Golf Show

12.14am 10th April 2008 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The Bom Sucesso Design Resort will be unveiling Donald Steel’s latest creation at this month’s London Golf Show from 25-27 April at Excel.

The revolutionary 18-hole course is the centrepiece of the world’s most innovative architectural homes project, Bom Sucesso, near the medieval town of à“bidos, on Portugal’s Silver Coast.

Bom Sucesso features 1,079 luxury villas and townhouses all individually designed by 23 contemporary architects and all with spectacular views across the valley and the golf course. The par 72 golf course was designed by Donald Steel a past president of the English Golf Union and named as one of the most influential golf course architects in the world by Golf Magazine.

Stuart Woodman, AFPGA golf consultant comments, “Bom Sucesso is a superb layout, which follows the tenets of good golf design. From the white tees, this will be a course difficult enough to test the world’s top players, yet from the forward tees, long carries are eliminated so that all can enjoy the experience of navigating around the variety of well-placed hazards on this course. Whether as a visiting player or as a resident, Bom Sucesso will be a pleasurable experience which all will wish to repeat time and time again.”

Golfers craving other courses in the area will not be disappointed. The Bom Sucesso Design Resort has also signed a number of reciprocal agreements with other high calibre Portuguese golf clubs across the country including Praia del Rey.

Each of the 1,079 properties on the Bom Sucesso site were designed by some of the world’s best contemporary architects, including Alvaro Siza Vieira, Souto Moura, the UK’s Stirling prize winner David Chipperfield, Josep Llinas and Aires Mateus.

This collaboration is set to be the largest modern architecture project ever undertaken in Europe. Three, four and five bedroom villas are available with prices starting from around €500,000 for a three-bedroom villa including the plot.

The resort’s other first class amenities include a unique 120-room 5* hotel and conference centre, luxury spa, shopping facilities, a large ecological reserve and a design museum.

Bom Sucesso has been classed as a five-star resort development by the Portuguese Directorate-General for Tourism, and named as a Project of Potential National Interest (PIN) by the Portuguese Investment Agency.
