Big Success of Moscow Conference

Excellent speeches of leading industry speakers from around the world, interesting Case Studies and Insights from golf industry attracted  up to 70 visitors for Leadership Golf Conference in Moscow, the first conference of its kind in Russian Federation. Over 10 countries were represented, spanning for every part of Europe and from a variety of industry disciplines.

The event was supported by industry leaders with Club Car as General Partner and TORO, STRI , KPMG, ENGO, Dennis & Sisis, DLF Trifolium, Everris, Environmental Turf Technology, Braemar Golf, Kuo Diedrich, Campey Turfcare Systems and many others as Business Partners.

The Conference attracted a line up of leading industry speakers including: Muriel Muirden, Vice President Strategy, WATG; Peter Harradine, Principal Harradine Golf; Alexander Yarunin, President Zavidovo PGA National Russia; Norbert Zaťko, director of ENGO group; Laurence Pithie, Director TurfMasterOne; Richard Gibbs, STRI Senior Consultant, Stadia & Design

Conference delegates, mostly developers and managers of Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian and Lithuanian golf clubs had an excellent opportunity to enjoy interesting speeches.

Alexander Yarunin, President Zavidovo PGA National Russia, followed Nick with really informative presentation about Zavidovo Golf Course, Russia’s first and only golf course carrying the prestigious PGA title.

Muriel Muirden from WATG outlined number of factors that will influence a lot of high-end resorts in the future, because of economic, demographic, environmental and lifestyle changes. We all need to be more responsible in future developments, thinking wisely about what we should build for the future generations.

Peter Harradine´s speech was focused to changes in golf course architecture. His unique style and inspirational presentation was really a big hit with conference delegates as was  Laurence Pithie’s who explored the fundamentals of effective golf course management.

The day programme was closed by an interactive presentation by Norbert Zatko, Director of ENGO Group, who outlined Turf Industry Challenges in East Europe, considering his reach experiences in Eastern Europe market, facing limited availability of basic supplies, education, experienced staff, machinery, economic and business instability etc.

There is no doubt that Eastern European markets have big potential. ENGO Group as conference organiser and a company with 20 years of experiences in industry, is happy to have received a lot of very positive feedback from delegates. Leadership Golf Conference has been outstanding occasion for meetings and discussions and set a precedent for another educational conference focused on golf industry in Eastern Europe.
