BEGS up to expectations

The second Barcelona European Golf Show (BEGS 2003) has met the targets set by its organiser, Fira de Barcelona. During the three day event, from 27th February to 1st March 1st, the show registered a total number of 15,840 visitors, of whom 3,425 were trade visitors. Fira de Barcelona believes that this consolidates the show as the main showcase for the southern European market.

Nearly 100 exhibitors were participating in an area of 3.500 m2 The BEGS format draws together player equipment, tourism, course equipment and maintenance, design and real estate. Brands at BEGS 2003 included Adams, Ben Hogan, Cleveland, Dunlop, Etonic, Lacoste, Lynx, MacGregor, Meridian Golf, Mizuno, Precept, Ping, Reebok, Ritratto, Römnisch, Taylor Made-adidas-Maxfli, Srixon, Van Green and Wilson…

BEGS 2003 also featured stands promoting tourism and real estate in southern Europe. This sector is expected to become an even more important part of future Barcelona shows. The conference programme attracted an attendance of over 500 to discuss topics including tourism, golf development and golf course maintenance. Within the hall there were activities including a fashion show presented three times a day, a putting course and driving range.
