Visitors to next year’s London Golf Show will have the chance to be part of the TV and radio coverage of the event after BBC London signed up again as official media partner.
BBC London was the official media partner in 2006 and the link-up was such a success that officials from both parties extended and expanded the arrangement for 2007. The partnership includes BBC London 94.9 radio, as well as BBC London TV and online.
Not only will BBC London be present throughout the four-day show, but it will also be carrying out interviews and competitions on the main stage with guests and BBC presenters. And each day there will be a live element to the shows which will be broadcast on the BBC’s flagship local radio station, to capture the excitement and atmosphere of Europe’s largest consumer golf show.
The London Golf Show’s marketing director, Andy Barwell, explained, “Our partnership with BBC London proved mutually beneficial in 2006 and carrying the relationship forward into 2007 was a natural progression.
“Our location determines our target audience and BBC London provides unrivalled coverage across London on three platforms: radio, TV and the web. The continued support of BBC London is testament to the fact the London Golf Show is here to stay.”
Once again, BBC London TV and radio sports presenters will be on hand to report live from ExCeL.
David Robey, managing editor of BBC London 94.9, added, “We were delighted with the response to our presence at this year’s London Golf Show.
“We provide a huge amount of coverage of football from Premiership down to the lower leagues and we have extensive commentary deals in cricket and rugby. But golf is one of the sports we are looking to build upon and the opportunity to return to the show is a welcome one.
“We will, however, have a more central role next year with different presenters interacting with special guests and members of the public visiting the show. It will enable people to actually become part of the show itself and is another facet to what is already a memorable day out.”
The London Golf Show returns to ExCeL, London, from 26-29 April with a four-day retail exhibition aimed at all standards of golfer. An industry conference will also run alongside the show on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th April – details to be announced shortly.
