Attendance boost for Golf Europe

Visitor traffic at this week’s Golf Europe trade show in Munich was 7% up on the figure for 2006 with an increasing number coming from central and eastern Europe. There were 297 exhibitors from 28 countries.

The number of visitors at this week’s Golf Europe trade show in Munich has been officially declared as 5,427, compared with 5,073 in 2006 – an increase of 7% over the attendance in 2006, when the show ran from Friday to Sunday.

Reverting to its normal Sunday to Tuesday format clearly helped the show’s popularity but there was also the attraction of stands featuring 297 exhibitors from 28 countries, compared with 267 exhibitors from 23 countries in 2006.

Country by country analysis shows that 2,696 visitors came from Germany and 2,731 visitors from other countries. Manfred Wutzlhofer, president and CEO of Messe Munchen, was particularly delighted at the increasing number of visitors coming from central and eastern Europe. He said that the feedback from exhibitors had been excellent with many of them commenting not only about the international visitor profile of Golf Europe but also the high quality of the buyers that they had met. “Golf Europe is the largest gathering for the golf industry and specialty retailers in Europe. It sets the rhythm for the entire industry,” said Mr Wutzlhofer.

The dates for 2008 have been set as 5th – 7th October.
