american golf partners with Golf Shows

Award-winning american golf has confirmed its presence as a retail partner for both The Golf Show, NEC Birmingham (November 16-18, 2007) and the fourth London Golf Show, to take place at ExCeL next April.

Andrew McDonald, chief executive of Europe’s largest specialist golf retailer, confirmed american golf would be at both shows after a successful debut at the 2007 London Golf Show.
McDonald said, “I was delighted with the success and exposure gained at the London Golf Show in April – our first liaison with the Golf Show Co Ltd. It proved a very worthwhile exercise commercially and the response from visitors to the store indicated that they were also pleased with the range and quality of products we were retailing.

“Signing up to the two shows galvanises our support for the events and demonstrates the Golf Show Co Ltd’s commitment to the industry as a whole.”

american golf is the largest specialist golf retailer in the country with 70 stores across UK and Ireland. It was also voted golf retailer of the year by readers of Golf Punk magazine for the second successive year – and for eight years running is the number one retailer with readers of Today’s Golfer.

Colin Brunton, chairman of The Golf Show Co Ltd, added, “I am very pleased we are able to continue the mutually beneficial relationship we established with american golf at this year’s London Golf Show.

“They developed an absolutely first-rate store, the biggest in Europe, for the four days of the show, and showed a larger variety of products than anyone else could. We feel american golf is our most natural partner, and that it has the marketing support and expertise in-house for developing ideas for the shows which has been first class in the past and will be in the future.

“The company is the largest supplier of golf products in the UK with major retail operations throughout the country and its continued presence at our events illustrates the commercial viability of the shows.

“Visitors to our shows will be able to benefit from american golf’s relationship with all the major manufacturers and the store will once again be the ideal place to pick up a golfing bargain.”

The Golf Show, NEC Birmingham, 2007 takes place at the National Exhibition Centre, from November 16-18, and the 2008 London Golf Show will return to ExCeL from April 25-27. Visit www.golfshowco.com for more information.
