Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort in France is set to mark its milestone 20-year anniversary with a series of activities and experiences that highlight the resort’s commitment to eco-responsibility.
Celebrations to mark the major milestone at the Provencal resort, which is now open for the season , will include an anniversary golf tournament, a Michelin-starred dinner and an array of curated partnerships.
The resort, which is set in a 750-acre estate some 20 miles inland from the French Riviera, was a pioneer for sustainably focused tourism when it opened two decades ago. This continued commitment was recognised recently with Terre Blanche being awarded a Green Key certificate. The distinction recognises the resort’s commitment to the preservation of its environment over the past two decades.
The resort has also been recognised as a Sustainability Leader by The Leading Hotels of the World. Just 50 Leading Hotels are part of this prestigious collection of rigorously vetted Leading Hotels that meet the highest standards of cultural, social, and environmental sustainability.
For the anniversary season, two of the resort’s restaurant’s, Michelin-starred Le Faventia and gourmet restaurant Le Gaudina, have also undergone a renovation by French Riviera based architect, Philippe Bonino from Phira agency. An essential element of the redesign was to redefine the spaces while keeping the spirit and identity of the restaurants. The design team reused as much of the existing furniture as possible by restoring elements, such as the chairs, with a view to ethical consumption and a focus on the details.
The resort’s Michelin-starred restaurant Le Faventia, which offers panoramic views over the unspoilt villages and the hills of the Pays de Fayence, will reopen on April 18. Le Gaudina is now open and will offer guests an updated bar concept. Now clearly distinct from the main restaurant area, there is a new, relaxed area where guests can enjoy a drink at the bar.
Additional 20th anniversary activities include:
- The Terre Blanche Spa will offer a new signature treatment harnessing local produce and the expertise of Valmont. Guests will be able to enjoy ‘Les Trésors de la Ruche’ (a 60-minute ‘Beehive massage’), followed by a 30-minute ‘Majestueuse’ Valmont facial. The treatment will finish with tea made with honey from Tanneron (Pays de Fayence) and honey cakes created by the resort’s pastry chef Jérémie Gressier.
- On August 2, the resort will welcome a Michelin-starred ‘six hands’ dinner with acclaimed chefs Stéphanie Le Quellec, Philippe Jourdin and Terre Blanche’s Christophe Schmitt.
- The resort will play host to a special Earth Day event on April 21 to celebrate its commitment to a more sustainable form of tourism.
- The resort’s wine cellar will focus on the 2004 vintage, where guests can book one of 20 appointments with the resort’s head sommelier Aurélie Deharbe every Thursday and Friday throughout July and August from 5pm-7pm to sample the finest wines from the region on offer.
- On May 19, the resort’s 18-hole golf course will host the Terre Blanche 20 Years Open – an anniversary competition for members and guests. Following the tournament, participants will be invited to attend the prize giving ceremony and cocktail reception. Entry costs €160 for golf only or €750 per person for a two-night stay, with breakfast, golf and cocktail ceremony.
