Roehampton Club installs Pure Hydration water stations

1.10pm 11th November 2024 - Environment & Sustainability

The Roehampton Club, a private golf, tennis, squash and padel club located in south west London, has installed a new water purification system that provides high-quality, filtered drinking water for its members.

The solar-powered system, which was supplied and installed by Pure Hydration, features multiple drinking stations around the club, including the golf course and tennis courts, which enables members to fill up their own water bottles with filtered drinking water for free.

With sustainability at the forefront, the system will reduce single-use plastic while offering safe, great-tasting water to the club’s 5,000+ members.

The Pure Hydration system is equipped with smart, internet-connected sensors that continuously transmits real-time data back to Pure Hydration’s headquarters to ensure optimal performance and track plastic mitigation with precision.

The Pure Hydration system also provides detailed sustainability reports, which can be shared with members and stakeholders, showing exactly how much plastic waste is being prevented.

A spokesperson for Pure Hydration, which is a corporate partner of the UK Golf Federation, said: “Leveraging our military-grade water purification technology, we installed our water stations across the club, with a particular focus on high-demand areas such as the golf course where we installed a fully solar powered station.”

“We are excited to lead the way in eco-conscious water solutions, helping more clubs achieve their sustainability goals while enhancing member experience.”

Explaining why he chose Pure Hydration, Marc Newey, Roehampton Club’s chief executive, said: “We have so many sports on offer here – golf, tennis, squash and padel – all of which make our members thirsty, so if they want access to water, they want it quickly. The key elements of the decision to install Pure Hydration water stations for me was that as well producing a great-tasting water they also understand sustainability and therefore we could match the two aims. We’re very pleased with the system and with ability to reduce our plastic footprint, so it’s a win-win from our perspective.”
