City of London Corporation Invites Offers to Lease Loughton Golf Course

10.00am 14th February 2024 - Environment & Sustainability

Loughton Golf Course spans approximately 30 acres and is situated within the M25. It is on the edge of Epping Forest which comprises 8,000 acres of internationally renowned woodland.

The course was originally a 9-hole short course but is currently closed.

The site is exceptionally well placed to engage with a wide audience, being just 2 miles from Theydon Bois tube station and 16 miles from Kings Cross.

With the assistance of real estate consultants, Knight Frank. the City of London Corporation is seeking to rejuvenate and reinvent the site and wishes to grant a new lease of between 20 – 35 years.

There is potential to redevelop the existing building footprint whilst also developing auxiliary leisure uses, subject to planning.

The City of London Corporation welcomes proposals from parties who are interested in taking on the site, with a view to enhance and build a long-term future which is harmonious with the local community and the forest.
