The award-winning Portuguese resort, Quinta Do Lago, has stated delivering ‘world-class customer experience’ is the primary factor behind its contract renewal with the world’s largest manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles, Club Car.
The Official Supplier to The Ryder Cup is supplying the European Tour Destination with a new fleet of 90 Precedent vehicles, fully-integrated with the latest Visage GPS technology, including 50 for the recently-redeveloped North Course.
This interactive Visage platform gives golfers precise shot and distance information, flyover video graphics of each hole, plus a live leaderboard during competitions.
The groundbreaking technology also enables Quinta Do Lago’s staff to remotely control the golf car fleet, optimise course maintenance with ‘no-drive’ zones, and monitor pace of play. The technology also helps the resort further its commitment to the environment following its €9.6m renovation of the North Course.
John Dwyer, chief executive at Quinta do Lago, said: “We are committed to offering a world-class customer experience throughout the resort and from the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received from discerning golfers, who recognise the prestige of the Club Car brand, the fleet more than meets both our and their high expectations.
“Furthermore, the customer service provided by the company is invaluable, with three busy courses, it’s imperative our fleet is operational all day every day. Club Car understands these requirements and offers the support we require to ensure this remains the case.”
Since it reopened at an event headlined by co-designer and 2014 European Ryder Cup Team Captain, Paul McGinley, Quinta Do Lago’s North Course has been crowned Europe’s Best New Course at the inaugural World Golf Awards, which also named the resort’s South Course, Portugal’s’ Best Golf Course. The country itself was voted Europe’s Best Golf Destination.
