Work has begun on the first phase of the re-development of the clubhouse at the elegant Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club in Tuscany.
The project signals the latest stage in the development of what is already being hailed as one of the leading private members’ Clubs in Europe and which has been named as one of the Top Five Developments of the Year and the Best of the Best Golf Courses in the World by the influential Robb Report.
The new Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club is situated within a rolling 5,000-acre estate at Montalcino (Siena), Italy, and features a magnificent 18-hole Tom Weiskopf golf course, and is set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering an unparalleled playing experience.
The estate is also home to Il Borgo (a village of historic buildings perched on a hilltop), the celebrated Sangiovese vinyards, a Spa, an organic kitchen garden and miles of hiking, biking trails and the new clubhouse has been carefully designed to complement its natural surrounds.
The first phase of the development will house a sumptuous locker room and is expected to be completed in April 2015. Work will then begin on a restaurant and members lounge before a professionals shop is added after that.
“Castiglion del Bosco is situated in one of the most beautiful and historical areas of Italy and when designing the clubhouse we have been careful to do nothing that would detract from the unspoilt nature of its surrounds,” said Club director, Niall Flanagan. “It will provide with everything our members need after an enjoyable round of golf but at the same time look as if it has always been there.”
The new clubhouse will sit close to Il Borgo which houses 23 spacious suites ranging in size from 538 to 1,974 square feet. The estate also features 10 elegantly restored Villas each fearing private heated infinity pool and selected services and amenities. Golf Club Members have preferred rates and other related benefits (subject to availability).
The first tranche of memberships at Castiglion Del Bosco have already sold out but further Individual, Family, Social and Corporate Memberships are currently available. Further information about
