The splendour of the glorious Goodwood Estate in West Sussex provides the perfect background for visitors to enjoy an innovative “Dawn to Dusk” day out that combines golf, a thrilling evening of horse racing and music from some of the best-known DJs in the UK this Summer.
The keynote is enjoyment and will be launched on three dates in June when evening horse racing is scheduled. However the visitors’ day begins with breakfast in The Kennels, Goodwood’s exclusive private members’ club followed by nine holes of golf on the members-only Downs Course designed by the legendary Open champion James Braid and rated one of the top 100 UK venues by Golf World magazine. Goodwood itself has also been ranked 27th in the list of best “stay-and-play” resorts in England by Golf Monthly magazine.
Once golf is completed and the special prizes awarded, “Dawn to Dusk” guests will enjoy lunch with local produce from Goodwood’s own organic Home Farm and then go to the famous racecourse for the evening meeting after which there is music and dancing in the Parade Ring which last year included DJs Mark Ronson and Chris Evans.
The imaginative programme offers both corporate and social guests the rare chance to experience the full range of diverse facilities that make up the unforgettable Goodwood experience. A spokesman for the resort explained: “The concept is to gather together your very best friends or favourite customers to share and enjoy this unique experience.”
Every attention to detail is made for guests to enjoy their day, including personal lockers, buggies, club cleaning, sessions on the driving range supervised by a qualified golf professional and, at the racecourse there are race cards and access to the Parade Ring. For those who wish to stay overnight, there is also ideal accommodation at The Goodwood Hotel.
The specific race days are 8th, 15th and 22nd June and the “Dawn to Dusk” outing costs £119 per person with the bed and breakfast rate in the Goodwood Hotel at £155 per room.
