Trump’s masterplan on show

12.54am 16th September 2009 - Course Development

A two-day exhibition will show maps, models and graphics of the development on the Menie Estate, near Balmedie in Aberdeenshire. The exhibition is open to the public and will be attended by key members of the development team.

The exhibition will be held at Balmedie’s White Horse Inn on 18 and 19 September, from 11am to 7pm on Friday and 11am to 5pm on Saturday. The Trump Organisation has outline planning permission for two golf courses, 950 holiday homes, 500 houses and a hotel.

Sarah Malone, executive vice-president of Trump International Golf Links Scotland, said the event would give people a chance to get the facts and speak to the team behind the bid.

The architect for the scheme, Gareth Hoskins of Gareth Hoskins Architects, said the masterplan aimed to create “a strong sense of place and distinct character, with the design of the resort and village rooted in the inherent qualities of the setting.”

He said the work to date had been greeted with positive support and great excitement by council planners, Architecture and Design Scotland, and Scottish Natural Heritage.
