Ryder Cup 2018 host venue, Le Golf National, is set to revolutionise its practice facilities with the introduction of Toptracer Range technology.

Having played host to the 42nd Ryder Cup last month on its Albatros course, the esteemed 45-hole Paris-based destination will utilise Toptracer Range technology to

enhance the club’s practice amenities. Elevating the driving range experience into a premium amenity, Toptracer Range combines technology and fun to create a superior golf experience for players of all skill levels.

Owned by Topgolf® Entertainment Group, Toptracer tracks the shots of the best players in the world on the PGA Tour and European Tour, and golfers of all ages and abilities are now able to share that experience in bays at driving ranges the world over.

Using cameras mounted around the facility and 21-inch monitors found at each hitting bay, Toptracer Range technology displays an array of details of each shot – including distance, speed, launch angle, shape and more. Data is instantly recorded and displayed on the screen through a player profile that can continuously be accessed through the Toptracer Range community application.

Toptracer Range has been introduced at close to 40 venues across Europe to date, with Le Golf National becoming the latest high-profile venue to adopt the technology as part of a major upgrade of the club’s facilities.

Speaking about the decision to install Toptracer Range technology at Le Golf National, Paul Armitage, General Manager, said: “It’s a huge year for us at Le Golf National, and we were delighted to be host the Ryder Cup as it headed to France for the first time ever.

“Sports fans from all over the globe watched the coverage of the tournament and we wanted to leverage that by making sure that visitors and members alike have the best experience possible when they come to Le Golf National. The introduction of Toptracer Range technology will go a long way to helping us transform the practice facilities that we are able to offer. I was blown away by the tech; It’s state of the art and I’m convinced it will revolutionise the way golfers practice internationally.”

Speaking about the company’s latest partnership, Toptracer President Ben Sharpe said: “By combining the best-in-class technology and service of Toptracer Range with a venue of the stature of Le Golf National, our brands are reaching new audiences and truly growing the game because golfers are being engaged more meaningfully through instant feedback and gamification.

“The Ryder Cup is a special event for golfers across Europe and the USA, so we are thrilled that the host venue has chosen to become part of the Toptracer Range journey in such an historic year for the club.”
