The Opening Weekend gala at West London Golf Centre and Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf on July 5th and 6th promises to be a thrilling family day out, even if you don’t know your six iron from your stegosaurus.
The popular West London Golf Centre driving range and golf superstore on Ruislip Road opens its brand-new 9-hole, 3,037 Par 36 golf course, with 9-hole green fees just £10 over the weekend, and 50% of green fees donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
At the same time, Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf opens to explorers of all ages. It’s a monster day out for the whole family, where Jurassic giants lurk amongst jungle vegetation and adventure golf action. Enter dinosaur territory as you explore 18 holes of adventure golf fun, and observe our near life size prehistoric predators move, breathe and ROAR!
Celebrities will be there to celebrate the grand opening, and Open Weekend visitors will be able to enter competitions to win prizes such as a year’s golf membership and an annual family pass to Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf.
Golfers who visit the Open Weekend will enjoy half-price balls at the driving range.
And there will be a spectacular golf Trick Shot Show on the WLGC Driving Range, on Saturday 5th July at 12 noon.
Dr Dino will be showcasing his latest dinosaur territory with a 2 for 1 entry offer throughout the opening weekend. There will also be Putting Contests, Face Painting and special dinosaur food in the West London Golf Centre’s café all weekend. But beware – there might be a hungry T-Rex behind you when you bite into your burger.
“It is going to be terrific fun,” said West London Golf Centre owner, Tony Menai-Davis. “The launch of what we believe to be one of London’s top 9-hole courses is a significant moment for West London Golf Centre, and indeed for all golfers in the area. It is an amazing full-length golf course, and we are looking forward to hearing people’s reactions to it. Not many brand-new courses open in the UK these days, and we think we have created a real cracker here at West London Golf Centre.
“To have Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf opening here on the same weekend is the icing on the cake, and I can reassure visitors that – just like me – these dinosaurs’ bark is worse than their bite.
“On July 5th and 6th, we have things happening across the entire weekend which create the prefect family day out, and we look forward to welcoming everybody here.”
Scott Sinclair, Managing Director of Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf said; “We are excited to be launching our third themed Adventure Golf site at the West London Golf Centre. Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf aims to provide a fun and exciting day out for families and friends alike whether you’re a first time explorer or seasoned adventurer! Our dinosaurs are not only awe-inspiring they’re also educational, and our adventure golf course will take you on a Jurassic journey through jungle vegetation and tropical palm trees.
The opening weekend will be a unique mix of prehistoric putting adventure and pro golfing prowess, myself and Dr Dino look forward to seeing you there!”
The WLGC 9-hole golf course offers a new ‘play-and-play’ challenge to the region’s golfers, although with membership fees from just £395 per year many are also expected to join.
Ceri Menai-Davis, Director of The Bridgedown Group, said: ”Over the last ten years we have been fortunate to meet many of the world’s great golf course architects, including of course Severiano Ballesteros and the Dye Designs team. We have put what we have learnt from them to good effect at the new WLGC 9-hole course. West London Golf Centre stands for affordable yet very high-quality golf, and I believe that our new golf course lives up to that claim.”
The West London Golf Centre facility was opened in December 2012 by England footballer Les Ferdinand MBE. The golf centre already has a 26-bay floodlit driving range, a 4,500ft american golf superstore, a licensed bar and restaurant and parking for 150 vehicles.
Alongside the new Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf attraction, the golf centre is also opening a new Putting and Short Game Zone this summer.
The Bridgedown Group’s next project is already under construction: a championship-length 18-hole course, named West London Links, is being built directly opposite the West London Golf Centre, and is set to open in 2017. In November 2013 the group also announced that it will open The Dye London near Edgware, north London, before the end of the decade.
5-Day Silver Membership of the West London Golf Centre golf course has been set at £395, with 7-Day Gold Membership at £495. All golfers who join before 31st July 2014 will receive £100 credit to spend at the centre’s driving range.
Green Fees at West London Golf Centre are £22 for 18 holes on weekdays, and £25 on weekends and Bank Holidays. 9 Hole prices are £12.50 (Mon-Fri) and £14 (weekends and Bank Holidays).
