Saadiyat Beach hits new heights following successful redesign

Championship layout boasts outstanding playing surfaces and impressive conditioning following recent enhancements.

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is enjoying an outstanding period following the reopening of its enhanced back nine, with the full 18-hole course layout now playing in superb condition and golfers flocking to experience the oceanfront course at its very best.

After welcoming players back earlier in the year, the course has continued to mature and settle, resulting in outstanding playing surfaces, impressive conditioning, and a layout that feels fully established. From tee to green, the course is now delivering the quality, consistency, and challenge that have long defined Saadiyat Beach Golf Club as one of the UAE’s must-play venues.

That momentum has translated into a record-breaking final quarter for the club, as golfers responded strongly to the chance to play the fully restored course during peak season. Strong demand from both club members, Abu Dhabi residents, and visiting golfers has made Q4 2025 the busiest and most successful in the club’s history.

“The completion of the back nine enhancements was just the beginning,” said Karl Whitehead, Cluster Manager at Viya Golf. “What’s exciting now is seeing the course really come into its own. The condition is excellent, the course is playing exactly as intended, and the feedback from golfers has been overwhelmingly positive.”

The recent enhancements to the back nine, delivered by Nicklaus Design in collaboration with Gary Player Design, were designed to complement the course’s original character while adding fresh interest and flow. With the work now complete and fully bedded in, players are experiencing a round that feels both familiar and renewed.

Standout changes to the back nine include refinements to the driveable par-4 10th, extended and repositioned tees on holes such as the 11th and 15th, a dramatically reworked long par-4 now playing towards the Arabian Gulf, and a striking new short par-3 framed by sculpted dunes and coastal views. The closing holes retain their iconic setting, now complemented by updated contours native grasses and beach-style waste areas that bring the round to a memorable finish.

Set against the white sands of Saadiyat Island and overlooking the Arabian Gulf, the course remains a rare example of world-class golf in harmony with nature. Home to more than 250 free-roaming gazelles and a variety of migratory birdlife, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club continues to hold its distinction as the Middle East’s first Audubon Certified Cooperative Sanctuary.

With world-class surroundings, standout course conditions, and a strong run of play through the peak season, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club closed the year in superb form – and is now inviting golfers to experience the course in 2026 and beyond.
