Rumanza Golf & Country Club, home to Pakistan’s first championship signature course, is reaping the rewards of its new Club Car fleet, as more players book twilight rounds to fine tune their game during the hot summer months.
With temperatures in Pakistan usually soaring between March and October, sometimes in excess of 50°c, night golf conditions are proving favourable at Rumanza’s Sir Nick Faldo-designed course, which opened in February.
Rumania’s General Manager, Sam Clayton, said: “As a venue aspiring to be an Asian Tour host from 2023, Rumanza Golf & Country Club has placed a great emphasis on delivering the best – from our signature golf course and high-end amenities to our ultra-modern, residential development and 5-star hotel.
“So, it was a given that we would turn towards the industry’s leading golf car manufacturer for our fleet.
“The stylish bodywork, smooth handling and first-rate suspension of our 34 new vehicles, as well as the extras you’re able to get, made choosing Club Car and its golf and utility products extremely easy. What we didn’t envisage was the added value the cars would provide our guests during the summer. With the majority of our golfers largely based a three-hour drive away in Lahore, our night golf offering has proven extremely fruitful to our operations.
“Our later tee times – from 4.30pm onwards – enable guests to play when it’s cooler and the temperatures have dropped, while our new cars allow them to not only complete a full round, but also have dinner and socialise, before heading back to Lahore at around 11pm.”
With extensive experience in managing large fleets – in excess of 350 cars at his last post in Cambodia – Clayton added: “I am keen to expand Rumanza’s fleet to around 80 and add Club Car Connect to all the vehicles to deliver a USP that is truly unique to us and provide the next level in customer service in Pakistan.”
Nicolas Le Glas, Regional Sales Manager Middle East & Africa, said: “We are so pleased that our partnership with Rumanza Golf & Country Club is off to such a strong start. Past experience with breakthrough venues such as Rumanza has taught us the importance of customer service and constant communication, so we very much look forward to working increasingly closely with Pakistan’s first championship signature course.”
