Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club has further boosted its visitor offering with the completion of upgraded changing facilities in the clubhouse.
The high-end installation at the famous Lancashire-based venue, which was carried out by Fitlockers, marks stage two of the club’s bid to bolster provision for its visitor base, an upgrade that includes refurbishment of the washroom facilities next door.
Light oak suit and holdall lockers, plus hanging space, towel store and drop, blend with club logo-emblazoned red carpeting and upholstered integral benching to create an inviting, welcoming environment for visitors. Keypad security also removes any key management issues that can arise with traditional locking.
Club secretary Charlie Grimley said: “Our objective is to deliver the very best visitor experience, and this latest addition certainly fulfils that aim.
“We approached three suppliers and had a good feeling about Fitlockers,” added Grimley. “The build quality is very high and the install team completed everything efficiently with minimal fuss and inconvenience to members.”
The fitout follows Fitlockers’ installation of guest lockers in the 16-bed Dormy House accommodation, sited near the clubhouse, two years ago. Light oak golf bag lockers with keypad locks harmonise with blue carpeting and fresh white decor and period fireplace.
Grimley said: “The idea is to heighten security by encouraging guests to bring their valuable golf equipment indoors when they stay with us, rather than leaving it in their car boots. They also have the opportunity to drink in our history and hospitality, learning what we are about. And there’s no finer feeling than breakfasting in the Clubhouse while watching the sun rise over the course.”
The visitor and guest changing provision in the clubhouse and the dormy house stand in marked contrast to the club members’ own facilities. “The member’s locker rooms are very traditional, and were designed many years ago,” said Grimley. “They are all named and members love them, passing them down from generation to generation.”
