Royal Dornoch to Get New Shop

12.04am 26th March 2012 - Course Development

Retail design and refurbishment experts Millerbrown have been awarded the contract to completely re-design, enlarge and refurbish the golf shop at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

As one of the world’s top courses, Royal Dornoch sees customers from around the globe who are attracted by the the club’s reputation and stunning location. Said Andrew Skinner, head professional, and who has been at the club for more than 20 years “Our shop gets very busy in the summer, and we realised some while ago that it was time to update it – it was just a question of fitting it into our busy calendar. Millerbrown made some very practical suggestions as to how we could use the space more effectively and their experience in dealing with this type of project was obvious. We are all really excited about it.”

Commented Paul Sanders, senior designer at Millerbrown, “ We are  delighted to be working with Royal Dornoch and are looking forward to completing another great project in Scotland. Over the last 2 or 3 years we have been asked to get involved with a lot more overseas projects, and a proven track record at clubs as well known as Royal Dornoch, The Wisley, and Royal Troon stands us in very good stead. Our new clients in Russia, the Far East and Europe tell us that they are very reassured by what they see and hear – and it’s most gratifying for us to see this happening ever further afield.”

The new shop at Royal Dornoch is due to be open by the middle of April.
