The Roe Park Resort, Limavady has completed an investment of over £400,000 in its golf and leisure facilities ahead of the 2015 Irish Open. The work included a £300,000 investment in redeveloping the resort’s acclaimed golf course alongside a £100,000 refurbishment of the Health Club changing facilities.
The redevelopment will provide local golfers with access to prestige greens and advanced golf technology to enhance their game. The final stage of the investment saw the last three greens of the course being reconstructed to improve play and create a more challenging finish to the course.
The golf course redevelopment also included a multi-tier finish to surrounding bunkers and introduced additional bunkers throughout the fairways to give players a more competitive game.
Terry Kelly, Golf Manager at the Roe Park Resort said: “The Irish Open taking place in Northern Ireland again this year and the global success of our local golfers has no doubt attracted more interest in the sport, ultimately placing more emphasis on the quality of our golf course. At the Roe Park Resort we pride ourselves on our luscious greens which are set in the scenic backdrop of the Roe Valley.
“We have worked with course specialists and combined our knowledge with input from resident golfers to make sure the course enhancements provide players with a challenging and competitive course.”
