Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, a BGL Golf venue in Nottinghamshire, has been recognised by England Golf for its commitment to driving growth in the game with a brace of national accreditations.
The 36-hole golf complex has received England Golf’s coveted GolfMark award, which also incorporates Clubmark; Sport England’s universally acknowledged cross-sport accreditation for quality sports clubs.
GolfMark is an official seal of approval for clubs which successfully work to develop the game by; attracting new members and encouraging existing members to play more, using practical business planning to develop the club, offering coaching and playing opportunities for all golfers, and ensuring safeguarding policies are in place.
Ramsdale Park offers first-class facilities suitable for golfers of all experience levels with a choice of two golf courses, an 18-hole adventure golf course, a 25-bay floodlit driving range and a well-stocked golf shop, as well as a relaxing Cafe Bar & Grill.
Head PGA Professional, Will Davies, who led the club’s push towards GolfMark, said: “Ramsdale Park is renowned for having a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and being an extremely proactive, forward-thinking club. This award helps us to spread that message and to encourage beginners and families to come and experience golf in a relaxed and safe environment.”
General Manager Stephen Norton commented: “We have enjoyed a healthy increase in membership in recent months and I believe this is due to the high standards we set, which have been recognised with this award. We constantly strive to offer a warm and welcoming environment for our members and guests while ensuring that we play our part in driving participation in golf.”
The award was presented to Ramsdale Park by Emily Rowbottham, England Golf’s Nottinghamshire Club Support Officer, who said: “I’m delighted that Ramsdale Park’s efforts to grow the game for the local community have been nationally recognised with the GolfMark and ClubMark awards.”
