Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, winners of 33 majors between them, have come together to each design a golf course on the same site for first time, with TGR Designs and Nicklaus Design commissioned to create two separate layouts at an exclusive new resort community in the Bahamas called Jack’s Bay.
Located on 1,200 acres along the southern shore of the Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas, Jack’s Bay features a 10-hole, par-3 golf course designed by Woods, whose construction was completed in 2020, while an 18-hole Nicklaus Heritage Course that is currently under construction is due to open in 2025.
Known as ‘The Playground’, the TGR Design short course plays entirely along the ocean. The holes on the par-30 course range from 71 to 163 yards, offering a flexible layout that delivers a challenge to golfers of all skill levels.
Jack’s Bay’s Nicklaus Heritage Course – the first to be created with this classification – will boast five holes directly alongside the ocean, while others will be afforded sea views.
The golf courses form part of an exclusive residential community whose first tranche of properties instantly sold out. A newly released collection of 12 furnished Atlantic Cottages that range in size from 2,264 square feet to 4,202 square feet is shortly to be released for sale. They offer four to six bedrooms and come with covered terraces and swimming pools. Two- and three-bedroom town homes and four- and five-bedroom villas at Jack’s Bay’s Nicklaus Village are also available as a part of the community’s first phase of development.
In addition to the two golf courses, facilities at the private residential community will include a private beach club, boat dock, restaurant, wellness centre, sports pavilion and tennis and padel courts.
Tommy Turnquest, CEO of Jack’s Bay, said: “This multi-generational membership offering and highly amenitized master-planned family-lifestyle community is a true legacy project that will transform South Eleuthera and become an oasis for our members, homeowners, and guests.”
Jack’s Bay is located 10 minutes from Rock Sound Airport, which can be reached by a 50-minute flight from South Florida or a 20-minute flight from Nassau.
