La Mavigila, a new luxury golf and residential resort located in the Puglia region of southern Italy, is set to open in 2027.

Nestled in the heart of the Primitivo wine region, La Maviglia will cover a 202-hectare site, with facilities including an 18-hole championship golf course, a 20-room boutique hotel, 35 private villas (ranging from two to six beds), 70 suites, four restaurants and a 5,000 sq m spa and wellness centre.

The accommodation for the clubhouse and the hotel is being created with the restoration and extension of an existing 16th-century farmhouse.

The 18-hole golf course will cover a 75-hectare site on the estate, with other golf facilities including a double-ended driving range and an extensive short game practice area. Details of which firm has been chosen to design the golf course have yet to be released.

Designed by Oppenheim Architecture and Enea Landscape Architecture, the resort is owned by Ultimate Collection, a Swiss-based company led by Nicola Cortese, a Swiss/Italian businessman who is also project managing the development.

La Maviglia is located in between Bari and Brindisi international airports, while there is private airstrip a 25-minute drive away in Taranto-Grottaglie.
