Mytime Active invests in community wellness with new golf buggies

2.19pm 27th July 2023 - Course Development

Local social enterprise, Mytime Active has invested £650,000 in 85 new golf buggies for eight of its community golf courses.

The state-of-the-art electric buggies by Club Car will offer members considerably improved reliability and efficiently, as well as being more environmentally friendly than the previous diesel models.

The new buggies have arrived in the southeast at Orpington Golf Centre, Bromley Golf Centre, High Elms Golf Course and Cobtree Manor Park Golf Course. In Birmingham, new buggies have arrived at Hatchford Brook Golf Centre, Lickey Hills Golf Course and Pype Hayes Golf Course. There is also a new fleet installed at Dibden Golf Centre near Southampton.

“We wanted to enhance our members’ experience when they join us to play golf and these new buggies mean an overall better customer experience,” explains Chris Deadman, Head of Operations at Mytime Active. “Also, thanks to the high quality, energy efficient batteries, the buggies have better capacity which will increase overall availability.

“We can track usage of the new Club Car buggies, which will greatly help us to reduce breakdowns and improve reliability, as we can ensure they all get used equally and regularly. This is a big investment for Mytime Active, and it will help ensure we continue bringing golf to everyone in the communities we serve. Buggies increase accessibility to golf for our more elderly members and those with limited movement, helping us improve overall wellness in communities as a result.”

Jason Stanton, CEO, Mytime Active, says: “Mytime Active strives to go above and beyond and champion active lifestyles for all our communities. These new buggies will help us continue to have a positive impact on overall health and wellbeing by making golf accessible to all. This investment is about future proofing our members’ enjoyment and wellness.”

Mytime Active is committed to investing more than £200k at its sites in the next six months, ensuring members have even more reasons to enjoy being active.
