Mackenzie & Ebert Ltd have been advising Royal St. George’s Golf Club on making the challenge for the world’s elite golfers as strong and as fair as possible

For the past 6 years, Mackenzie & Ebert Ltd have been advising Royal St. George’s Golf Club on making the challenge for the world’s elite golfers as strong and as fair as possible for this year’s Open Championship.

Their work includes the addition of championship tees on the 7th and 9th, adjustments to bunkering and input on course set up. The 18th has been strengthened with new bunkers being added on the left of the drive and the fairway being widened on the right of the hill to make encourage bold driving on the final hole.

Martin Ebert of Mackenzie & Ebert Ltd. commented:  “It is always challenging working on these great old courses when planning for The Open. A balance has to be struck between the requirements of the members who play the course week in week out and of the world’s top players. We are excited to see how this work stands up during The Open next week.”

Mackenzie & Ebert Ltd also advise at Royal Lytham & St Annes, Turnberry, Carnoustie and Royal Troon as well as many other classic courses around Europe.
