Planners have approved the development of a £45 million hotel, conference, leisure and golfing development near St Andrews, reports Thorburn Colquhoun, the scheme’s civil and structural engineer.

The concept is based on the award-winning Ch®teau Elan centre in Braselton, Georgia and will feature two eighteen hole golf courses, practice facilities, a golf clubhouse, a 208 bedroom hotel, a 400 seat conference centre and ten high quality manor homes for letting as ancillary hotel accommodation.

Existing farm outbuildings and surrounding areas will be redeveloped to incorporate spa, leisure and additional recreational facilities.
