Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, provided technical support and training to the greenkeeping team at SKY72 Golf Club during the 2016 SK Telecom Open Championship. SKY72 Golf Resorts own five golf courses on Yongjeong Island and this year, the competition was held at the Ocean Course located in Incheon, South Korea.

Li Mengsheng, Product Support Manager for Jacobsen, was on hand during the Championship to assist Head Mechanic, Mr. Kwon, with setting up cutting units and assisting with technical questions. SKY72’s Ocean Course currently uses Jacobsen LF3800 and LF570 fairway mowers and a Tri King ride-on triplex trim mower.

Li Mengsheng commented on the support offered to SKY72 during the competition, “I first visited the golf course in the summer of 2015 with our distributor, Seo Won. The greenkeeping team at SKY72 is fairly small and labour hours are expensive, so I agreed to return to the course during the 2016 SK Telecom Open Championship. I wanted to offer extra technical support to the team to ensure that the machines delivered optimum performance whilst preparing the course for this prestigious competition.

“I have now supported SKY72 for three tournaments. Jacobsen has a mantra known as the 3 B’s: to build relationships, to build a product that meets customer’s needs and back that product up for the rest of its life. Supporting SKY72 is part of our company ethos of building relationships and putting the needs of the customer first, and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with them moving forwards.”

James Prusa, Director-Golf Courses and Laboratory at SKY72 Golf, expressed his gratitude to Jacobsen and Li saying, “I would like to thank Mr. Li Mengsheng and Jacobsen for the extraordinary support that they provided during the 2016 SK Telecom Open Championship. Our golf course team was particularly appreciative of the support and training that they received. Mr. Mengsheng worked many 12-hour days and proved himself to be a master mechanic and is a credit to Jacobsen.”

SKY72 Golf Club’s Ocean Course is a Nicklaus Design course and features 18 holes which were opened for play in 2007.
