Hatchford Brook Golf Course, Driving Range, Gym and Clubhouse was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Mike Leddy at a launch ceremony on Wednesday 11 December, following a £2.5m refurbishment by social enterprise Mytime Active.

First opened in 1969, this 18 hole course has received a major renovation over the last year. Improvements have been made to the golf course and the new clubhouse now boasts a stylish bar and café, high quality changing rooms and a modern 100 station gym. The venue also includes a new 24 bay all weather flood lit driving range with a Power Tee system.

This is the second major investment in the region from Mytime Active who last year took on a 50-year contract to run Birmingham City Council’s seven golf courses. The organisation re-launched Pype Hayes Golf Course, Gym and Clubhouse in August 2013 following a £2m investment.

Dignitaries from Birmingham City Council attended the ceremony to hear addresses from the Lord Mayor, Cllr Mike Leddy, Steve Price, Mytime Active CEO and Dennis Barkway, Mytime Active Chairman.

Lord Mayor, Cllr Mike Leddy performed the official opening and encouraged locals to use the new facilities.

Mytime Active CEO Steve Price said, “We are pleased to open the doors to this new golf course. The clubhouse looks amazing and provides fantastic new facilities to help people of all ages and abilities enjoy getting fit and healthy.

Steve added, “The launch of this site cements further the great relationship we have with Birmingham City Council in delivering top class leisure facilities to the local community.”

A series of special events will be taking place at the clubhouse to mark the launch, more information can be found on the Mytime Active website www.mytimeactive.co.uk
